Beans on toast

The hearts of the eggs cracked
down the middle, yolk seeped
between the crevices, seeping
down until it fell into the glass jug.
Add milk and whisk your arm
around as you form whirlpools,
Around and around, dancing
to the music on the radio.
Grab some beans and simmer
them gently, gently simmering
as they warm up their throats,
before you eat your beans on toast.

NOTE: Beans on toast is an absolute classic breakfast in the U.K. Usually it is accompanied by either eggs, bacon, cheese, sausages, tomatoes, hash browns – or even all of these if you’re feeling extra hungry. You cannot beat an English breakfast. Try it!!
